ISPF (Interactive Rules Productivity Facility) occurs as convienence placed for the IBM z/OS (MVS, OS/390) operating system for mainframe computers. It includes the screen editor, the interface of which was emulated by a bit of pc editors sold commercially in the late 1980s.

It primarily will bring the IBM 3270 terminal interface with menus & dialogs to begin information on the formulas under TSO. ISPF is ofttimes wont to manipulate z/OS data sets via its PDF (Product Development Facility).

ISPF is user-extensible & these are typically utilized as an application program interface. Several seller keep close at hand created products for MVS that have a ISPF interface.
